I am finding one of the most important things to surrender to is time. Trying to force things just doesn't work. Things take time. When it comes to losing weight or changing your life remember if you are chasing success you are always going to be chasing, but if you just trust and let things happen then the journey is much more enjoyable.
If you are unhappy with where you are in life and things aren't happening fast enough then I CHALLENGE you to look at how much time you spent getting to where you are and how much time you are spending to get to where you want to be.
Be well
it's been awhile since i've visited but once again you've hit the nail on the head...found myself tearin up as this is exactly my biggest frustration right now...bout to get ready for work(just one of my frustrations) but also need to absorb your words and collect my thoughts and i'll be back! thanks again for taking my thoughts putting them up front for me to face!
hi!! unfortunately if i was making time for mysef i'd be here more lol...been a pretty rough month..but working on getting myself back on track!i miss coming here and learning from y'all!
Interesting that you should make that point, Jessie because I just started evaluating my eating; inspired to follow a more clean eating lifestyle and the one thing I keep saying is that it will take time to reprogram my brain, it will take time to see the number go down on the scale. In the meantime I am absorbing all the wisdom of Tosca Reno and learning to appreciate the wonderful taste of fresh food and the pleasure of creating my own culinary creations.
Very wise and inspiring words. Time plays its part in each persons life and sometimes we can get overwhelmed by it. There are thing that are out of our control and I've always believed that everything happens for a reason. Rather than constantly trying to control and make things happen, it's sometimes better to let things be and let life take its course.
Hey people, I'm new here. I like what Jessie has written, but I do disagree with one point he states. You can't just trust and let it happen. That's a bit like the misconception people have gained from The Secret (that if you think about what you want in your life, and keep it in mind, you'll manifest it). The 'secret' ingredient is that you have to actually DO something. You have to work towards your goal. The only point where 'trusting and letting it happen' comes into being is if you work towards the goal, and know that it is going to take time. I write not just from theorising and speculation, but from practical experiences. Unlike a lot of people, I'm actually trying to GAIN weight (or muscle mass, to be more accurate). I haven't hit on the combination that works for me, but I do know the frustration of not seeing results that would be encouraging. But I do keep trying, and trying to find the right mindset when things will click for me, fall into place, and have a deeper meaning and connection for me. Thanks for the opportunity to comment. Cheers, Pete
Welcome, Pete!! you've found a very cool site! have you introduced yourself in the intro section?? we'd love to hear more about you and where you are in your journey as of now! and i liked your comment- a lot! personally, when i read JP's challenge i got the impression that he meant for us to "give ourselves a realistic amount of time to achieve our goals. and that by not doing so, premature discouragement might prove distructive to our efforts." i never really felt as though he wanted us to simply "think" it into fruition. but that being said, some of the previous posts do appear to have heard it as you have, so who knows. but regardless, you do make a great point. we still need to remain PRO-ACTIVE in the pursuit of our goals. i have never read The Secret but have heard A LOT about it, and its kind of disconcerting to know that peeps may be adopting the "if you simply think it, it will happen" mentality. thanks so much for bringing your perspective and concerns into our little think tank! the more insight, the merrier, true?? LOL!!
