Starting the day out right is important and the type of food you decide to eat in the morning can really influence how your day can go. Here is a breakfast that combines all the essentials to starting the day out right.
Protein Oatmeal
1/2 cup oats
1 cup boiling water
add 1 scoop of your favorite protein powder (20-25g of protein) (vanilla or chocolate)
1/2 cup of blue berries
add cinnamon and almonds for extra nutrients
ENJOY!
O-KAY!! i'll be waiting!! and i'm pm'ing you some soy protein now!!
Good morning ladies.....I'm with Frisky....never been much of a oatmeal person but with almonds, blueberries and cinnamin......it does sound sweet .....and fast....just what I need. Can I use whey powder? Is that a protein? I think that's what I have at home.....

funny, I did this one this morning without looking your...
okay Frisky - I am eating my oatmeal - minus the almonds - and with only virtual protein powder - it's very good. I would not have thought of blueberries and cinnamon together but I really like it. Being the sugar junkie that I am I was tempted at first to add some sugar but after a few bites - I don't need it! This will be a regular on my breakfast table! Thanks Jessie!
I have oat meal every morning with flax seed and cinnamon and raisins and eat them while Im driving to work. That takes care of my morning breakfast (which I never ate before). Then Ill snack on something lite around 10ish.
Jessie... you said health benefits for Cinnamon. What are the benefits?
hmmm. made the oatmeal. and i think i have successfully answered my own question about the soy protein. yeah, it was... well....not.good. that's a negative on the soy protein people.

and i doubt i was supposed to use cinnamon sugar, true? yeah, this whole experiment has inspired me to start a new topic: are artificial sweeteners okay?? LOL!!
seriously, though. i'm going right now to start it...
I tried this for breakfast this morning...followed the recipe. Even with blueberries in every bite, it still wasn't sweet enough for my taste. I didn't have the two sweetners you mentioned in the other discussion (agave or stevia), so I sprinkled some Splenda on it. I didn't put too much on....and I realized no matter how much other stuff you put on it, at the bottom it's still going to be oatmeal. General Mills makes a cereal called Oatmeal Crisp with almond slices....it's really good and that's probably as close to oatmeal that I'm going to get. Thanks for the recipe, I'm glad I tried it.. One good thing though..I've added blueberries to my diet..I love them!

I personally enjoy steel cut oats and have found that fresh cut bananas go a long way. If you can't cook your own, try Jamba Juice's; if there is one in your area.
