Healthy snacks are a must when it comes to eating right. It's as easy as picking up an apple or banana with some all natural peanut butter, grabbing a hand full of almonds, or throwing some tasty veggies into a bag. The list goes on and on. You should look at your metabolism like a furnace so the more fuel you put into your body the better it burns. Let us know what kind of healthy snacks you've been using to fuel your metabolic fire. Be well
Liza! i soo agree with you about bananas! they're just an all around perfect and easy snack thats super filling and so sweet. i'm surprised they dont make sweeteners out of them, actually.... Debi - sooo true! as a kid, my mom always kept the cabinets stocked with Little Debbies. GAH!! i swore to myself, and have kept that promise i might add, that i would never let those sinful snacks into MY home!! LOL. i try to use that philosophy with other things, too, as my will power leaves much to be desired. and i think, at least for those of us with the "out of sight, out of mind" disposition, it is truely imperative to have healthy snacks kept out in the open to be seen as soon as we step foot into the kitchen. otherwise, i forget about all about them and go to the pantry (home of all things processed) out of habit!! and thanks Clay, for that info! do you get flax seed and agave at Whole Foods, too? i'm not sure if we have those around here.... oh, and is there a specific reason why you chose agave as your sweetener of choice? i'm trying new stuff out presently...
Frisky- Yes you can buy them at Whole Foods, though I'm sure a health food store has them as well. I use agave because I like the taste and it doesn't spike your blood sugar. I believe Jessie also mentioned Stevia on another post, which is pretty good too, in my opinion (I put that in tea).

wow loving these snack ideas! i work 11p to 7a so munchies had always been my downfall(moreso to keep awake, and from boredom vs hunger) so its good to see all these alternatives vs vending machine choices...i'm really curious about this almond butter...I'm allergic to peanuts and i've tried soy butter which is decent but would like to try some other nut butters!
Dustin - now THAT sounds like my kind of meal. i am an utter "snacker" in the sense that most of my meals are really just snacks. healthy-type snacks, but snacks none-the-less. and everything you just described, when looked at individually, is like a finger food snack. for nibblers like me, that sounded just PERFECT. thanks for the ideas!
