Need help with Abdominal Workouts
That sounds great Christi! Thanks:) I'll try that either tonight or tomorrow and let you all know how it goes, but since you have back problems too, I'm pretty excited to try this. Is Jessie your personal trainer?

I forgot one more ab excercise he has me do that I love and wont hurt the back...He has me use a large ball and put my shins on it. I get in a push up position and then I pull my knees in toward my chest keeping my back straight and contract my abs when Im pulling the ball in. Then straighten your legs and start over!!
Thats one I really enjoy!!

Christi

Sounds good, I can try that too, although I don't have a large ball but I'll have to invest in one. How long do you do that exercise for?
Christi, I found a video of Jessie doing exactly what you just described! http://www.accesshollywood.com/resolutions/dish-of-salt-how-to-get-great-abs-with-diettribes-jessie-pavelka_video_1109524

Yes he is my personal trainer....I feel blessed to have met him.  He is an amazing person inside and out and definately has helped me realize that I need to live a healthier lifestyle by working out and eating right....Never have been to the gym in my life and have never ever worked out and Im so thankful I have had the experience of doing all this with him as my trainer guiding me through it all...
He put me at ease from the moment we met and he has actually become an important person in my life...I consider him a friend as well as my trainer.
Jessie,
I tried what you said, lifting my legs from a hanging position and it worked! It was the first time I ever tried doing any exercise to streghten and tighten my core that it didn't hurt my back at all, although it was very hard to do! And I have a question about healthy dieting, other than fruits, what else can I have as a snack that is healthy? Because I heard cereal bars are good, but then other sources said it's better not to eat those. Also, what about popcorn that nearly fat free?
Thank you!
Malika

Christi,
You are so lucky! I wish I had the opportunity to work with Jessie! I'm sure just one session with him would be a great help. And I'm glad to see that what I thought of Jessie after watching Diet Tribe is true, after reading what you said. He seems to get the job done and help those women without having to be mean like other trainers on shows like that. I wish I lived in California, it would be incredible do have a chance to train with Jessie.
Thanks for all the advice! Haven't bought a ball yet, but the hanging ab exrcise really worked, although it was getting hard after a while.

Hi Malika,
I usually snack off on granola bars (either store bought or home-made), dried fruits or nuts.

Most of the time, I'll pick up a bunch of different ingredients at a bulk food store and either mix and match to create my own trail mix or eat them as is.

PS. If you're buying nuts, ie almonds, cashews etc, get them unsalted and salt it yourself (if you want) to watch how much you consume.
