When it comes to changing your life you have to change your routine and habits. Most of us know this, but don’t want to face it, especially when it comes down to the action of it all. It takes surrender and sacrifice, letting go of those things that we hold so close. Sometimes it’s a video game (Jack), sometimes it’s the right food rather than the wrong, and sometimes it’s a person, it’s all relative. Jack let go of the things that weren’t serving him. He showed how some hard work can not only get the weight off, but it can open many other doors, and the possibilities are endless. Here’s to Jack. You are the real deal buddy.

OBESE: A Year To Save My Life
Check out Jack’s story as he faces the fight of his life, his weight, his addiction to food and a habitual lifestyle that is sending him down the road to destruction. Jack’s story is one of amazing change and transformation, but it comes with great sacrifice and surrender. I hope you enjoy watching him as much as I enjoyed working with him. Remember to let us know what you think!
THE POWER OF “NO”
by jessie on July 15, 2011 in Uncategorized
THE POWER OF “NO”
Ever since my son was born he has been teaching and re-teaching me all sorts of valuable lessons, and recently he reminded me of something that I think all of us need to remember: THE POWER OF THE WORD “NO”. For example, I ask him, “Do you want some juice?” He replies, “NO.”, it’s as easy as that, no hesitation, no remorse, just full commitment to the word. Such a simple word, “No” yet if used properly it can silent a crowd, stop a person dead in their tracks, and liberate anyone brave of enough to us it. We live in a “YES” world, big business thrives on “YES”, but in the long run we as consumers, as people and or health and wellbeing suffer. “YES” is easy, “yes” is why we are an (in every sense of the word) unhealthy nation and slowly becoming an unhealthy world. Yes feels good, but No, comes with a cost, a different kind of responsibility than “yes”, and a different kind of sacrifice. My son isn’t afraid to say “No” he just knows what HE wants and he isn’t afraid to reject any offers from dad, or of hurting someone’s feelings, just because he’s being true to himself.
Today, try to use the word “no” in your life. Try to stand up for yourself and say “no”. When you want to go have another burger or purchase another item that really serves no purpose in your life, say “no”. When you’re being mistreated, either by your own actions or by the actions of others, say ‘no’. Just say “No”. “No” could change your life; it could change the world.
Here are some ways you could use the word “NO” in your life.
1. “Would you like to supersize that?” (A) NO
2. “Would you like to buy a second TV for 30% off?” (A) NO (how many TV’s do you need.
3. It’s a Thursday, you have a big day at work tomorrow and your friends ask, “hey, lets go out and have some drinks tonight”, you went out last Thursday, felt like hell the next day, you have no control over your alcohol consumption, but you love going out. You want to say “Yes”, but the (A) “NO”
BE STILL………
by jessie on June 22, 2011 in Uncategorized
In the bible, it says, “Be still and know that I am God” . . .by the way, I am a firm believer that all religions have a great message, so whatever your beliefs are, please read on.
“Be still and know” what a powerful message. Now it obviously doesn’t mean don’t do anything, don’t just sit and wait for things, but rather be patient, trust that the work and effort you are putting in is not going unnoticed. Be still, do the footwork and then be still. Allow your inner self talk, that constant chatter in your head to quiet down, let the thoughts drift off without taking a hold, do whatever you have to do to come in to this moment, and stop thinking and doing constantly.
Do what you know is necessary, then be still. If you’re trying to loose weight know that the training and nutrition that you’re already doing, are working, and if you are stuck in a bad place mentally, trust (be still) that everything will be ok. Deep breathing is a great way to let go of the negative self talk, or the constant need to do something, and you will find you become peaceful, present, and ultimately more alert and energized.
Things are ever changing, nothing stays as it is, so you can trust that if you a do what you know you need to do, then all will be ok. For my wonderful 9 clients on “A Year To Save My Life” in the UK and anyone who reads this, try to quiet your weary minds and know that things will be ok, as long as you are doing your best on any given day.
Be Well,
Jessie

Have you become the product of an unhealthy environment?
by jessie on June 14, 2011 in Uncategorized
I always had an issue with the quote “you are a product of your environment.” (W. Clement Stone). While I knew there was much truth in it, I had to wonder how a person from nothing could turn that “nothing” into something and become a leader, become sober, become whatever it is they decided to be when the odds where against them due to their environment. How did they, in that environment, turn it around? While I try to look at both sides of everything and weigh and measure all options, and though there is relevance to my questioning, the odds are against those who are predisposed to an unhealthy environment. In the new show I am doing, “A Year To Save My Life” I am getting a chance to see how to make the best out of the environment that you have been given. How to leave the friends that may not be the best, how to turn right to the healthy place instead of left to the place that makes you feel guilty and undeserving of anything good. I am getting reminded of how letting go, one of the hardest things to do, may be the best thing that ever happened to you. We fall in love with our environment no matter how unhealthy or chaotic it is. It’s, for some of us, the only thing we know, but if you want to make changes, the right changes, you have got to change your environment or make the most out of the one you are given. I think it is wise for us to all take inventory and look at what we are surrounding ourselves with. Let us know how you have made changes in your life and how changing your environment played a huge part in that.
Be well,Jessie
It's funny how we go through life and things change so much. All it takes is one day, one minute, or even a second and everything in life is turned around. Sometimes these changes are good and we can appreciate them for being exactly that...Read more about Jessie Pavelka
